Here in Drumcondra NS we have an active Parents’ Association. All parents are eligible to join the P.A. and to help out in any way they can. The P.A. organises a variety events throughout the year; from our annual Christmas Raffle, to quizzes and cake sales. Some of the events are to raise funds for the school, while others are just for fun and to help parents to get to know one another.
Money raised by the P.A. benefits all the children as it helps to provide additional equipment, reduces the cost of swimming lessons and school trips and tours.
The Parents’ Association are running a “Gen Free – Let’s Go Phone Free” Charter. This initiative is run by the parents and supported by the school. The aim is for our primary school pupils to be FREE from Smartphones, FREE from Social Media, FREE to be kids while they are primary school age. To introduce this to your school community, parents are simply asked to sign the charter and display it at home. It’s important to note that this is a voluntary initiative for parents to engage with.
